The hull of the Hylas 46 is completely hand laid solid fiberglass with 8 longitudinal stringers tied to each frame and bulkhead providing an unusually strong seamless monolithic structure in excess of A.B.S. standards. There are watertight bulkheads fore and aft. The keel is externally bolted lead using 12 solid stainless steel 1 3/8" bolts with backing plates. The distance between the rudder and keel is measured by design to provide excellent directional stability and balance. The semi-skegged rudder provides for a solid combination of strength, protection and performance. The bottom of the rudder is 6" higher than the low point of the keel providing protection for the rudder in the event of a grounding. Hylas built these boats with 2 epoxy barrier coats to avoid blistering. White factory gel-coat topsides The bottom was sanded and bottom paint applied June 2024. There is a teak rubrail with stainless steel guard.
Fiberglass sandwich construction with balsa core. Solid GRP fiberglass in all areas of deck for deck fittings and stress areas. The deck is bonded to the hull with 3M 5200 epoxy and thru bolted every 5" with backing plates. The deck has molded contrasting beige nonskid.

The Hylas 46 has a beautiful center cockpit layout with that wonderful aft owner’s private stateroom and ensuite head and shower and an incredibly lovely pullman berth stateroom on the port side and the large head forward for guests. The walkthrough galley to starboard is classic and it works! Offshore it is safe and secure and at anchor the incredible counter space is welcome. The navigation station is forward facing on the port side facing forward with all the electronics beautifully mounted within easy reach. The salon and the entire interior is pleasing with varnished teak joinery and custom UltraSuede upholstery in a beautiful “willow” color. The cabin house has generous windows to create a light, airy and bright interior. Custom cabinetry provides ample storage and makes the vessel completely livable!
When you enter the companionway from the center cockpit, you will instantly be impressed with the space with its lavish headroom, the light from the cabin windows, and the beautiful teak joinery. Hylas elegance abounds with the unique curves and rather sumptuous layout with the curved dinette to port and settee to starboard with cabinetry outboard. The dinette has a pull out bench seat that allows generous comfortable seating for six at the salon table. The circular dinette table also lowers to make a nice double berth for visitors. The bamboo cabin sole is varnished in high gloss and has been protected with lovely carpets that compliment the custom upholstery. The numerous hatches have Ocean Air screens and blinds in the fore and aft staterooms. The quality and luxury is apparent and you will appreciate the attractive appointments from the high quality fixtures to the lighting complete with dimmers and reading lamps. The creature comforts are complete with a CruiseAir AC system with two compressors and the entertainment system with Flat Screen, DVD, CD changer and Alpine stereo sound system, Washer Dryer, Watermaker, Electric Winches, virtually everything you could need or want!
The center cockpit with its new dodger, new bimini and full enclosure extends the living space and the aft deck and swim platform becomes a lovely entertainments space as well.
