2016 Morris M42

Southwest Harbor, Maine

Kailani is a stunning example of the M42 and the newest to come to market. One of the most highly optioned M42’s to date, she has a combination of thoughtful and tasteful aesthetic upgrades and performance enhancing improvements as well as upgrades to sail handling systems. Like other M42’s, she is set up to be easily sailed by one person with plenty of room in her large comfortable cockpit for family and friends. Below are accommodations for coastal cruising for a couple or small family. Maintained by Morris/Hinckley service since new, she is currently inside heated storage having all of her annual service done for the coming season.

Some of her more significant enhancements include:

  • High modulus Hall Spars carbon fiber mast – lighter and stronger than the standard carbon mast
  • Composite EC6 shrouds with Kevlar backstay for additional weight savings and performance
  • Reckman hydraulic jib furler with carbon fiber foils
  • Harken hydraulic system for vang, backstay and underdeck sheeting for jib and main
  • North 3Di 760 Aramid/Dyneema main and jib
  • Short trunk cabin deck layout with extensive teak cladding and custom handrails
  • Sparkman & Stephens designed shoal draft performance keel
  • Full cherry interior with upgraded lightweight Decolite panels for all non-structural bulkheads and the cabin sole
